I love John Lennon, but he did to his family i cant get past. Julian, his own son, he abandoned. Not unlike Kurt Cobain, but Kurt took his life, John moved his life and forgot Julian on the way. Jim Morisson, i disagree there. I feel that he did have talent, maybe not as great as some others. He isnt a role model by any means, and you cant judge poetry. Poetry is a personal thing, and what he finds beautiful differs from what you find beautiful. You cant just judge. Debbie is a low mezzo, a bit like Chrissie, but with a more extended and powerful voice. What about vocal ability? I agree Pat never had (or cared about) the whole punk movement and moved away from it as early as her 2nd album. She was more a straightforward rock'n'roller...as Newsweek once said, she was "Wonder Woman backed by ZZ Top." And unlike the other two, she had the vocal chops to at least SOUND like she kicked ass. Debbie coos and Chrissie mumbles...Pat Benatar can sound like either of them, if she chooses, or completely devastate you with a soaring four+ octave vocal attack. And guess which one of them STILL sounds amazing live? Lazarus Dig!!!” which starts with the title track and “Today's Lesson”<BR/><BR/>When you said you had included "the Whiskeytown album", I assumed you meant "Strangers Almanac" which, of course, meant the 1-2 was “Inn Town” and “Excuse Me While I Break My Own Heart Tonight”. Now that's not a bad 1-2 either. But... it lead me think more about "perfect albums", those records where EVERY song is right. Those records where there's no song you would skip, which sit perfectly in a six disc, random shuffle that allows one to spend hours listening to a continous stream of flawless music.
